Tactile material and modular form share the same studio, work and words. The selected expression is remembered. Motion remains a separate choice.
01 / Construction
One idea, carried through.
A cut changes the relationship.
The incision belongs to the mark, the artwork and the way a sheet moves. Avoid distress added to otherwise unrelated shapes.
Material has a reason.
Paper grain stays on the material planes. Text, controls and longform reading stay sharp.
A limited set of inks.
Ultramarine, yellow and vermilion share warm stock and dark ink. Each composition has one dominant colour.
Order, with an interruption.
Alignment makes the deliberate shift legible. Do not rotate every object or turn the whole page into a collage.
A mark must survive reproduction.
The plain wordmark is for small reading. The incision is the expressive version. Both are vector outlines.
Movement comes to rest.
Sheets shift once; the composition stays complete. Controls remain conventional and reduced motion reveals the final arrangement immediately.
02 / Identity
An incision through the familiar.
Archivo outlines form the wordmark. One rising incision interrupts the silhouette. The Upper Bowl symbol has a narrower upper mass and a solid lower bowl. The mark stays clean vector geometry; physical character comes through its applications.
Expressive / large uses. Preserve the incision and the full name.
Outline / display proof. Do not use hairline outlines for small print or embroidery.
Plain / practical reading. Use in navigation and at small sizes.
Upper Bowl / S1. A compact split B-like sign; pair with the name on first encounter. Its reading in isolation is not guaranteed.
Literal monogram. The original Archivo B, retained as an alternative when the letter itself needs to be explicit.
Small-use proof: wordmark 150 px; symbol 20 px; monogram 24 px. Reserve the cut wordmark for larger applications. Inspect the symbol at its actual output size; these are proofs, not universal minimums.

The cut rises across both formats, with its angle adapted to their proportions. The wordmark retains its 34-unit gap; the symbol keeps its original cut. Do not add a waist, open counters or an arbitrary slash.
One identity. Several useful forms.
The stacked wordmark places BLANK above OUT using the same outlines. Keep the shorter second line at its original width. Use the plain form for small reading; reserve the incision and outline for generous display sizes.
Choose the file for the surface.
SVG: scalable outlines for layouts and controlled integration. Explicit-colour exports travel between applications.
PNG: supplied 2400 px wordmarks for raster workflows. Keep the aspect ratio; do not enlarge past the available resolution.
Icons: use the dedicated padded files at the target size, rather than squeezing the full wordmark into a square.
Both expression pairings.
These are fixed export specimens: switching the site expression does not recolour them. Transparent versions need a suitable receiving background. Neutral ink and paper versions are available in the identity package.

Room around the mark.
For ordinary standalone placement, keep other content outside these boundaries. The dedicated icon exports already include their margin. Full-bleed editorial compositions may deliberately depart from ordinary spacing while preserving the whole name.
Keep the signature intact.
The incision has a rule.
The rising cut is optically adapted to the symbol and wordmark. The line wordmark keeps a 34-unit vertical gap: about 0.84 px at 160 px wide, 1.67 px at 320 px and 3.76 px at 720 px. If it closes up, choose the plain form. Do not draw a substitute slash or move the halves independently.
The surface carries the character.
Keep the logo paths clean; physical grain belongs to the surrounding application. No added texture, shadows, gradients or strokes inside the mark. Standalone exports stay unrotated. Identity motion settles into the complete mark; reduced motion shows that same complete state immediately.
Screen colours are RGB references, not CMYK recipes or physical print proofs. Test the actual stock and process before production. Keep the supplied Archivo font licence with font-derived outlines.

A few colours. Exact relationships.
These live values come from the same registry that generates the CSS. Field colours belong to large compositions; foreground variants are chosen for readable contrast. The inherited green API key aliases blue and adds no fourth hue.

Scale without losing the sentence.
Archivo is self-hosted under the SIL Open Font License. Weight and width support display composition; reading stays at normal width. Semantic level and visual size are separate primitive properties.

Keep the references connected.
Published Sanity records own the site copy and media assignments. The token registry owns both expressions; geometry sources own the selected S1 / R0 identity. Changing a source requires checking its reference specimens, responsive use and exported derivatives together.
